About the Hotel
Langtry Manor has a completely unique history and was built in 1877 by Edward VII for his mistress Lillie Langtry. One hundred years later it was purchased by Pamela Hamilton-Howard who is still actively involved with the running of the hotel with her daughter Tara.
Best Hotel in Bournemouth The Guardian
The Langtry Lodge was the former home of Lord Derby. It is older than the Manor and where Lillie and Edward stayed when the Manor was being built. In the early 1980's the Lodge became part of the Hotel (just 50 yards away from the Manor).
Tara Howard, now the Managing Director has recently lavished over half a million pounds on refurbishing both buildings. After enlisting the help of top designers, Portfolio London, Tara has maintained the historic ambience of the hotel and rooms whilst simultaneously introducing a contemporary feel. This is evident from the newly created bedroom décor to the function and conference rooms.
With so many chain hotels vying for business, it is so refreshing to find a small privately owned and run hotel with personal service, history and charm.
The hotel has a unique selection of bedrooms including a choice of honeymoon suites, four poster and Jacuzzi rooms, with the Kings Room as the figurehead.
